Happy Chinese New Year everyone!
We've been speaking a little bit in class about this celebration over the past few days, discussing by which different animals each birth year is represented, how the celebration follows the lunar new year and why lanterns are a symbol used to represent the lunar new year.
If you haven't already had the chance to read it, please check the previous post from last week for more information on the storytelling process that is going on in the class at the moment. I have also included a link for the google doc table of the stories or legends that students have already confirmed with me for their storytelling. The practicing at home takes place from now until February 29 and presentations in class begin March 1st. I will send home a tentative presentation schedule next week.
